How it Started
Memorial Day 2007 Aaron Hoffman and I were returning from South Carolina, when he informed me he had a sailboat. We agreed to sail within the next few weeks, and one day him and I met at his Dad's used car lot and prepared the Thistle race boat. His uncle, who had given him the boat, was home and showed us how to rig the boat. We took the boat to Cowan lake, but there was no wind, so there was little sailing. Despite the low energy of the day, I was hooked on sailing.

Acquisition
Approaching the end of the summer 2007 Dave Parrott returned to Cincinnati and let me know that he had access to his dad's sailboat. We spent a few days and night cleaning the boat and preparing it and the trailer for use. Unfortunately, we never got the boat to the water. Hopefully next spring we will have a chance to sail it.

Over winter break Jim Bullard's Laser was transported from Minnesota to Cincinnati and to Joe Bullard's possession. After winter break, I helped Joe move his boat to a new location. So now the group has access to a Thistle and a Laser [and Dave's boat]. Additionally, we have acquired the cables for a 27' cabin sailer. The shrouds supporting the mast had snapped and needed replacement. Hopefully, the weather will break and give us a chance to test this rig, as well.
